To Hell with Publishing is a London based publisher whose mission it is to revive the role of the independent press in the UK’s literary scene. Inspired by the movement kick-started by Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s City Lights bookshop it uses as a model the great presses of the past such as Black Sparrow Press and Olympia Press, as well as modern ones such as McSweeney’s.

We create limited editions; produce a literary journal, To Hell with Journals; run a literary award, To Hell with Prizes; and publish fiction through our two lists To Hell with Classics and To Hell with First Novels.

To Hell with Publishing is Dean Ricketts, Lucy Owen, and Laurence Johns.

We cooperate with other publishing houses and international bookshops on some projects.
